Ancora Cruises brings an authentic Vietnam experience to international guests as they cruise in the signature destination of the country. An on board cooking demonstration with Ancora’s talented Head Chef allows guests to learn interesting dining habit of local residents as well as have a quick taste of home-cooking dishes that have travelled a long way in Vietnam history.

Squid Fishing

Squid fishing on Ancora Cruises is considered the most engaging activity in the evening. However, please be noted that this activity can only be held when weather permits. Normally, the ideal time for squid fishing is from April to around January of the next year. In the early season, squid is very small, so, if you want to catch the biggest squid, visit Halong Bay in the peak season of squid, from August to December, especially in October and November.

When the night falls, after enjoying a delectable dinner onboard, those who want to be engaged in squid fishing will be provided fishing gears like fishing rods and racquets by receptionist. Lucky or experiences guest can catch 15 – 20 squids per night. Are you confident with your fishing experience or your luck? The crew will help you to cook the squid and you can enjoy it.

Tai Chi Ancora Cruises is really a mysterious and graceful martial art form enjoyed daily by huge numbers of people around the world because of its health, relaxation, and self-defense benefits. Tai Chi has been said to improve balance, lower blood pressure level, and aid relaxation. “Practicing Tai Chi first thing in the morning with our professional trainer is a great way to start your day, clearing your mind and giving you energy for the rest of the day to discover the beautiful of Halong Bay.

Most Tai Chi classes are held between 6:30am – 7:00am, on sundeck if it’s sunny and in the dining hall if it rains.

 

Cooking Class

The Cooking Class on Ancora Cruises which helps passengers not only to sample fine cuisine but also learns more about Vietnamese culinary culture.
